Brief & Vision

The Shinjuku district council wanted a landmark piece that would rejuvenate a neglected transit corridor and provide a sense of security and vibrance for late-night commuters. The "Neon Guardian" was conceived as a multi-layered protective entity that watches over the district.

Using specialized UV-reactive paints, the mural transforms as the sun sets, with hidden patterns emerging under the district's neon lighting, creating a dual-state experience for day and night.
